About Chalford Tennis Club

The first tennis club in Chalford consisted of just two grass courts, but over the years the club has built up a thriving membership, and for many years there were four courts with all-weather surfaces and floodlighting. At the end of 2010 the LTA awarded us a grant of £38,000 towards building another court, in 2011 the club now provides its members with five floodlit, all-weather courts. By the end of the 2010/11 season there were nearly 350 adult and junior members of the club, most of whom lived locally, but some who regularly came from Stroud and Nailsworth to play at Chalford.

Social Club Sessions

Adult social sessions take place on Wednesday evenings, from 7pm and Friday and Sunday mornings from 10am. These are open to all adult members, and if you don’t have an established group of tennis-playing friends, coming along to Social is a great way to meet others of a similar ability who want to play regularly. A duty member will be in attendance to help organise play. There is also a Ladies Night on Mondays, starting at 7pm, again a club member will be on duty to oversee play and organise floodlights etc - we are always delighted to welcome new ladies to the club, please feel free to turn up and introduce yourself, or for more information call Carole Clayton on 01453 885164.

Teams

Chalford enters both Mens and Ladies doubles teams in the Gloucestershire LTA inter-club league, and team captains are always keen to meet new players, so you can either turn up at a practise session or contact one of the captains to ask for more information.
